No matter where you go, there you are.
Modern wisdom says that you can change yourself by changing your circumstances, but this is contrary to biblical truth. For example, we are not defiled by what we eat, but by what we do (see Matthew 15). In other words, who we are is not dictated by our external circumstances, but rather by what is inside us. And therein lies the problem. Our problem is inside of us. We need Jesus to come in and clean us out. You have met the enemy, and he is you.
