According to appliancerebates.sc.gov South Carolina will begin giving out rebates of up to $500 for energy efficient furnaces and heat pumps in March. The South Carolina Energy Office is launching a $3.9 million rebate program for Energy Star certified appliances.
This program is being funded by federal stimulus money and is similar to the “Cash for Clunkers” program in that you have to dispose of your old inefficient appliances in order to qualify for the rebate.
